Pierre, SD (August 1, 2013) - U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rounds announced today that Mitch Krebs will serve as campaign communications director. "We're very excited to have Mitch back on our team", said Rounds. "His tenure as a longtime, trusted journalist along with his public service in state government and several years of advocacy in the healthcare and energy industries gives him the unique experience to help us tell our story."
Krebs, who served as press secretary for Gov. Rounds from 2007-2009, will oversee all aspects of the campaign communications including press, social media and speaking events. "There's no doubt in my mind that Mike Rounds is the right person at the right time to serve as South Dakota's next United States Senator", said Krebs. "The Governor's leadership is sorely needed in Washington and I'm proud to join his top notch team."
Most recently Krebs was director of public policy for POET and prior to that, assistant vice president for community and media relations for Avera McKennan Hospital after a 16 year career in broadcast journalism and newsroom management in Sioux Falls.
