Pierre, SD December 4, 2013- Governor Mike Rounds announced today that Barb Everist will serve as campaign treasurer for his run for the United States Senate in 2014.

“I’m very grateful that Barb has volunteered to take on this important role on our campaign team,” said Rounds.  “During our time in the state senate we teamed up on important legislation for South Dakota; I’m looking forward to working with her again.”

Everist served in the South Dakota legislature from 1993-2002, was Assistant Majority Leader and Majority Leader in the state senate, and was a candidate for the United States House of Representative in 2004.  She continues her dedication to public service today by volunteering her time to many worthwhile causes here in South Dakota.

“I’m honored to serve as treasurer for Mike and I appreciate his leadership,” said Everist.  “As a U.S. Senator, he’ll lead in a direction that South Dakota not only wants, but deserves.”

Mrs. Everist holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota and earned her BA from the University of Santa Clara.  She and her husband Tom live in Sioux Falls.
